Getting Ready for 2023 with Branded Calendars

27th October 2022 in Winter & Christmas

Imagine investing in a marketing tool which is definitely going to do a solid job for you, whether day or night, on 365 days of the year… That tool is, of course, the calendar – something the average person looks at every single day. Almost everyone uses a printed calendar (even if they also use an app on their phone to keep track of appointments and anniversaries) and you’re likely to find a calendar of some sort on a desk or a wall in both the workplace and the home. So, the benefits of promotional calendars printed with a logo and contact details can be huge for a business or an organization as visibility is so high.

At EverythingBranded we stock a vast array of branded calendars perfect for your marketing needs – but before we point you in the direction of what we’ve got, let’s have a look at 12 of our favorite days of the year and an interesting fact related to each. This is, once again, us giving you some amazing trivia so you can impress your family, friends, colleagues, and customers - and you could even mark some of these up on the custom calendars you order!

  • On January 1st, 1776, George Washington unveiled the Grand Union Flag, the first national flag of America. It was the first flag of the united colonies, still not yet declared independent from Britain. It had 13 red and white stripes and a blue field with the red cross of St. George of England and the white cross of St. Andrew of Scotland.
  • February 6th is remarkable as the birthday of two American legends. The first was baseball hero Babe Ruth (born in 1895). Ruth famously held or shared 60 Major League records. The other was 40th POTUS and former actor Ronald Reagan. Elected to office in 1980, he survived an assassination attempt and was the most popular president since Roosevelt.
  • On March 11th, 1997, the ashes of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenbury were launched into space. The much-loved series he created in the 1960s was not a hit when first broadcast but has grown through re-runs and endured, with the character names Kirk, Spock, Scotty, Uhura, Chekhov, Sulu and ‘Bones’ McCoy familiar to this day.
  • The Titanic sank on April 15th, 1912, about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, with the loss of more than 1,500 lives. The luxurious White Star vessel had been heading for New York on its maiden voyage from England but struck an iceberg in the middle of the night. It lay undiscovered at the bottom of the Atlantic until a search expedition found it on 1st September 1985.
  • On May 5th, 1961, Alan Shepard became the first American in space. The astronaut piloted the Freedom 7 spacecraft for a 15-and-a-half-minute flight. This was the era of the so-called ‘Space Race’ with Shepard’s mission occurring around three weeks after Russia made cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin the first-ever human in space.
  • Actress Marilyn Monroe was born on June 1st, 1926, in Los Angeles. Her movie star pin-up looks hid that she was fragile and insecure, and she was ‘unlucky in love’. She died in 1962 from an overdose of sleeping pills. Her most famous films were Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot, and she is also remembered for singing Happy Birthday to JFK...
  • We could have picked Independence Day to represent July in our list, but we’re opting for the moon landing on July 20th, 1969. This was probably one of mankind’s greatest achievements, encapsulated perfectly in the moment astronaut Neil Armstrong took his one small step onto the surface. Over 650 million people worldwide watched the moment on live TV.
  • August 16th, 1977, is the day singer Elvis Presley died. Perhaps the most famous entertainer ever, Presley grew from extremely humble beginnings to become one of a select handful of showbusiness figures whose influence can be said to have crossed over from affecting the arts into changing society itself.
  • The worst terrorist attack in our history occurred on September 11th, 2001, of course, but here we’re going to focus on something more positive. Magnificent actress and performer Beyonce was born twenty years earlier, on September 4th, 1981. She rose to fame as a member of R&B group Destiny’s Child, and since going solo has become a global icon for feminism and black identity.
  • On October 30th, 1938, an infamous radio broadcast of War of The Worlds took place. A cleverly adapted version of the HG Wells novel, it incited panic as legendary actor Orson Welles convinced many members of the listening audience that a full-scale Martian invasion was taking place!
  • President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address on November 19th, 1863, during a ceremony dedicating the Gettysburg Battlefield as a National Cemetery. Lincoln's words that day have come to symbolize the definition of American democracy itself.
  • Family favorite animation How the Grinch Stole Christmas premiered on TV on December 18th, 1966. Adapted from the Dr Seuss book, it’s the story of a solitary creature who tries to cancel Christmas by stealing gifts and decorations from the homes of a nearby town. During the course of the story the Grinch realizes that Christmas is not all about money and presents...

We’re sure you’ll have your own list of notable dates throughout history – and the great thing about calendars is that you can mark them up and celebrate every year! Customized calendars for promoting your business or organization are a great idea as they’ll raise brand awareness due to the daily visibility of your logo when it’s printed on them.

1. Customized Wall Calendars

Branded wall calendars are perfect for offices and other common areas as well as for use in the home – perhaps put up on the family noticeboard. As giveaways or small sale items you’ll have no trouble pleasing the audience you give them away to, as they’re incredibly useful and if they are eye-catching enough they’ll make your business truly stand out. We have many designs available to suit all tastes.

2. Personalized Desk Calendars

Branded desk calendars are also popular. Even though the world is now extremely digital, and people have their schedules programmed into their phones or laptops, having a printed calendar on a desk or at a reception area is a great way to make your business or organization highly visible. Desk calendars are available in a variety of designs, shapes, and sizes and at EverythingBranded you’ll have an easy time finding one to suit your aesthetic.

Other personalized calendar items include planners or journals. Whichever you choose to use as the promotional tool for marketing your business to customers, clients, friends, and employees, remember you’ll be supplying them with a truly useful item and they’ll be very grateful – which goes a long way to ensuring your brand remains in mind – today, tomorrow and the year beyond!
